Running daily; sending my inner umpa lumpa packing
So last weekend during the long bank holiday I attempted to start running daily. After doing it for 3 days the working week soon aborted my ambitioin.
Well this coming week I am going to attempt to do it again. I’ve been blogging daily for quite some time now, and I want to extend my daily routine to include running. Blogging exercises my writing, research and communication skills. Running will only exercise my jiggly lard-arse but that’s OK it needs it.
Although it’s sponsored by the less than pearly white Nike I actually quite like Run London. It has some tools to encourage people to run. They have a route site based on Google maps which allows people to plot route to share with others. These include gradient details, how well-lit at night it is and distances for the routes. It’s a great idea and I’m going to start using it once I get to a stage where getting to the park doesn’t leave me out of breath.
If people have any other suggestions for getting back in shape, or running tips please comment. I’d be really interested in how people motivate themselves and if they run in the morning or evening.
