Cool shit round up
Finally before I hit the hay tonight a little roundup a cool shit that is new or has been hanging around.
In the Bush Market I spotted this neato toy. A pseudo laptop with a fake ‘designed for Windows XP’ hologram sticker to add authenticity. The cost? A mere £7.99. Bargain.

Next up… proof that the people in Hamley’s toy store have a sense of humour; Those big kids! As the sign notes ‘Guitar sold separately’.

Again while I was out around and about Oxford/Picadilly Circuses, Soho and Carnaby Street, I saw this. Spunky! The only thing I can say? I reckon whoever made this brand had balls.

Finally for this round up, the other half and I were in Acton to look at a potential place to live. Walking up a random street we saw this:

For those of you who don’t know this is an army fire truck, called a Green Goddess. Most recently employed for civvies during the strikes over pay or hours, or some stuff like that. What the hell one was doing in a residential street in Acton I have no idea. Welcome to London!
That’s your lot of cool shit for this time. More later.

Actually, they auctioned off the last ones in about August, and they were an absolute bargain, considering they’ve mostly never been used, but have been perfectly maintained by the taxpayer for the last forty odd years…As they were originally designed to put out fires in the aftermath of an atomic exchange they have airtight seals, filtered air supply an’ all, as well as 4 wheel drive, so it might be just the thing to get out of town with in the event of something terrible happening…still not as cool as that pink tank that used to be parked down near Elephant somewhere…

Wrong - this is not a Green Goddess. This is a normal fire engine painted green! Further the GGs were not army machines just used by army personnell.
