Dumb Mandate Continues Aggravation
Peter Upfold notes how the poorly thought out Digital Millennium Copy Act (DMCA) is continuing to be used to fuck over the consumer. Apparently a DRM manufacturer is suing a number of companies (Apple, Microsoft, etc) for not using their DRM solution. They cite parts of the DMCA that penalise manufacturers for making products that do not include measures to stop the theft of copyrighted material.
Me, I’m going to invent a method to stop of putting a plastic sheet over every page in a book and then sue all the major publishing houses. It’s obvious those bastards are letting people get away with photocopying!
Update Doug Crockford has some great thoughts on this.
