Molly, sorry if I got that wrong. Paul seemed pretty definite that you were 'upset', possibly too strong a word. The grapevine speaks very highly of all involved, which personally keeps me chipper about Standardistas.

Paul just make a point which I like, it's easy for us to forget how other people see the world when we are at the brave new front. I found that out when I started a new job and inherited some horrific code. I don't think that means that people promoting standards forget the little people, but it sure is a constant danger to forget how we used to think.

I reckon people like Paul, and in fact yourself, bridge the gap nicely providing entry points to these ideas. I've helped work on standards, such as WCAG, and the discussions can get pretty ethereal, we shouldn't put that stuff in front of newbies; it's scary! Having people that can interpret the innovation in ways which are digestible is invaluable, even if they do 'dumb it down'.

So, I'm glad you got back to me and I hope we are all on the same page. Certainly with the Geek Dinners, they rule!

Hey there, check your facts. I wasn't upset with Paul at all.

All I did was link to his site as the most recent example of this sort of discussion.

Glad you enjoyed the Geek Dinner. They are fun!

Best,
Molly
